April 23rd is universally known as the Earth Day, where people around the world celebrate and respect to the earth. Several activities are done by the people in order to celebrate the Earth day, such as seed planting, recycling the trash, and many other activities related to making the world a better place.
In Bali, there were many individuals and companies celebrating the earth day.
Here are what we a few of them got up to:
Bali Safari & Marine Park celebrated this earth day with a visit from the children of the Eben Haezer Orphanage inBali. Bali Safari & Marine Park created activities which reflect on the “Green Commitment” of Bali Safari, such as making water retention wells or bio-press, creating useful items from recyclable materials, and witnessing how the Park’s Safari Rangers make recycled paper from elephant manure. These kinds of activities are expected to give children the education and awareness of the importance of environmental protection and create a greener world.
On the other side, PT. Jimbaran Hijau who corporates with UPT Disdikpora Kuta Selatan celebrated the earth day by organizing Jimbaran Festival 2016 or called as JimbaFest 2016 with the theme “Green, Education, Art, Culture, and Fun”. There were numerous activities carried out by Jimbaran Hijau, such as Green Competition, Garden Tour, Night Market, Community Gathering, and Green Concert. The Green Competition held on April 23rd, 2016 from 09.00 a.m. – 11.30 a.m. local time. The competition was divided into several competitions, such as Trash Sorting Games, Seed Planting Games, “Wayan Jeha” Drawing Competition, Poster Competition, Recycle Competition, Green Speech Competition, and Green Selfie Competition. Besides the Green Competition, there is a Garden Tour which invited the participants to go around seeing the horticultural garden activity and also the cultivation in the hydroponic house. These activities ran from 10.00 a.m. – 11.30 a.m. JimbaFest 2016 were also supported by the Night Market and Community Gathering activity where people can visit Jimbaran culinary and product stands and also the Green Concert which invited students from SLB B PTN Jimbaran and local artists and band.
All of the activities held by both Bali Safari & Marine Park and Jimbaran Hijau showed people how importance is it for us to keep the earth.
We try to represent villas that have large gardens and try to implement health systems that reduce our impact on the environment, if you want to book a villa with us and find out how you can give back to the Earth, check out www.balivillaportfolio.com and ask us about our connections with our supported NGO’s www.gus-bali.org and www.mumbali.org
